1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Pro Tech PT-PFS400-18GT Smart PoE Switch. This 16-channel Gigabit PoE switch is designed to provide high-speed network connectivity and reliable power distribution for professional networking environments such as surveillance systems, corporate offices, and commercial installations.

The switch supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing both data and power to be transmitted through a single Ethernet cable.

2. Example Configuration

The PT-PFS400-18GT can be installed in a standard network setup as follows:

• The Internet connects to a Firewall.
• The firewall connects to the Smart PoE Switch.
• The switch distributes network and power to connected devices such as:
  • PoE IP Cameras
  • Wireless Access Points
  • PCs and Workstations
  • Servers
  • Network Video Recorders (NVR)

This configuration ensures centralized management, stable connectivity, and efficient power delivery to all connected devices.

3. LED Indicators

The front panel includes LED indicators that display the operating status of the switch.

Power LED (Green)

• ON: The switch is powered on.
• OFF: The switch is powered off.

Link/Act LED (Green)

• ON: Port is connected at 10/100/1000 Mbps.
• OFF: Port is disconnected or link failure.
• Blinking: Data is being transmitted or received.

These LED indicators help users quickly monitor network activity and troubleshoot connection issues.

4. Rear Panel

The rear panel of the PT-PFS400-18GT includes:

• Multiple RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports
• DC power input port
• Clearly numbered ports for easy identification

Users can connect Ethernet cables to the appropriate ports and supply power through the DC input to operate the device.
